CARDS FROM MISS HEATHER WINTERS' KINDERGARTNERS IN CHAMPAIGN, IL!
FEBRUARY 27, 2007 (Photos of Triple Whip in the classroom to come....)
For a local elementary school's "Celebrity Readers"
week, Triple Whip played a couple songs and read to some classes.
(Holly had low volume on the bass amp, while Jane brought a djembe drum, tambourine
for her foot, and bells for her ankle.)
We entertained three 5th grade classes and one kindergarten class, who wrote
us the 23 thank-you cards below.

| Dear Ayah, you are also beautiful! We love your drawings of us! I love lots of animals! I grew up with dogs, cats, and birds, and have also had hamsters. And Jane grew up on a farm, so she was around sheep and horses and donkeys and lots more animals! I currently have two finches, and Jane has a bunny rabbit! ~Holly | |

My favorite instrument to play is the bass, but I also love hearing the piano and the cello. I also love rock bands. | Dear Jane, your drawing of us is beautiful! Thank you for encouraging Triple Whip! We practice a lot so we can be great musicians. I like to play the bass, but I love hearing all kinds of instruments, so I watch music concerts all the time. Jane is getting her Ph.D. in percussion, so besides the drums, she also likes to play the marimba (like a long xylophone), and other instruments like timpani drums and the vibraphone. ~Holly | |

I also love spending time with my friends because I love them and they are really nice, fun, and creative people. One animal that Triple Whip loves is a horse. | Dear Nathanael, Triple Whip loves you too! You drew great instruments! Gosh, picking just one favorite food is hard! Miss Winters and I went out to dinner last week and had some yummy food—we ate coconut shrimp, mixed green salad, and banana cashew ice cream for dessert! But two foods I've loved the longest is pizza and French toast. Also, I love trees too! I have a few plants at home and one fig tree. Jane loves trees too, and in fact we had our last Triple Whip photo shoot in a foresty area near Meadowbrook Park. ~Holly | |

| Dear Pranali, thank you for your well-written card! Yes, both of us listened to music when we were children. Nowadays, I think it's neat that we can listen to music through the Internet—that was not in existence when I was a little girl. I chose the bass guitar because I loved the deep and strong sound it has. Jane auditioned for drum lessons when she was younger and made the cut. She also started learning piano when she was 4 years old. Good for you for learning the violin! We love music! ~Holly | |

| Dear Spoorthi, you're so sweet. Thank you for your kind words about Triple Whip! As you can see, I chose purple writing, and my bass is purple, and you're right, I do love the color purple! But I love all colors! Sometimes I pick out what color clothes to wear based on my mood or how I'm feeling, or how I would like to feel.
